During the hospitals 50th anniversary in 1989
an 35 page booklet was produced to commemorate the hospitals
past, Even though the governement programme of mental hospital
closures was well under wy the hospital staff were still very
proud of Barrow. A copy of this booklet has been sent to ForlornBritain.co.uk

Mervyn
Portlock, Mervyn and his partner both worked at Barrow Hospital
for many years during the 1990's.
